How has your sustainable journey started?
It started many years ago in Australia. My parents were always focused of recycling, reducing waste and re-using where possible.
What is your vision and how do you think you add value to the community?
I hope that in 5-10 years pads and tampons will no longer exist. Instead, women will use sustainable, reusable, more comfortable and safer products such as Modibodi.
Can you share a couple of practical examples on your sustainable living that would be useful to others?
Recycling, using re-usable water bottles when out, reusable shopping bags, shampoo bars, reusable food wraps, wearing Modibodi!
Since when do you live in the UAE?
My family and I moved to the UAE late 2016.
Why do you love this place?
There are so many reasons! I love the diversity of the population here, the desert, the quality family time we have, and the opportunities we have to see the world and make so many special friends.
If you would get a magic stick what would you improve and make better?
The working conditions of the labourers here in the UAE.
Where do you like doing your grocery and why?
I love shopping at Spinneys. I love the quality of the fresh produce, and the friendly staff.

What is your favourite eco-friendly restaurant or cafe?
Wildflower
The best way to spend time with family and friends?
Afternoon bbqs in the desert!
How do you spend your free time?
Spending time with my husband and children, cycling, swimming, reading and learning Arabic.
Do you recycle and how?
Of course! We have nearby recycling bins where we can leave paper, cardboard, plastics and glass. We also try to re-use as much as possible.
The best recent discovery in the UAE?
Lotus biscuits which we crumble over vanilla ice-cream.
What is the best way to learn about sustainability and green living?
So many ways – following eco-friendly accounts on Instagram, learning from our children who are learning about this at school, listening to podcasts, Facebook groups.
