Dubai Municipality has introduced the new, smart Big Belly bins that contain a self-compaction function in the bin, which is activated by its solar panels. The compaction of the waste reduces the overall volume, allowing the bins to take more material than the average bin. Furthermore, the two-stream bins allows users to dispose their general waste and their recyclable waste in separate compartments.
The smart bins can be found on both sides of Sheikh Zayed Road and 2nd December Street.
